SAHTU – WILDFIRE EVACUEE ASSISTANCE
September 9, 2023
For Sahtu Beneficiaries of Yellowknife, Dettah, Ndilo, Hay River, Jean Marie River and Fort Smith who evacuated due to the wildfires from August 2023-September 2023.
The Sahtu Secretriat Incorporated will be distributing a one time assistance payment to Sahtu Beneficiaries that have been affected by the NWT Wildfires in the above mentioned areas.
The Sahtu Secretariat Incorporated is working with the Sahtu community land corporations for support for impacted Sahtu Beneficiaries, we recognize the need to reduce the financial burdens on Sahtu Beneficiaries, we also encourage you to continue to reach out to your individual land corporations.
The SSI will be issuing one time assistance payments of $400.00 to each Sahtu Beneficiary Wildfire Evacuee as of Monday, September 11th, 2023.
We will be contacting all those that have recently filled out the Sahtu Beneficiary – Evacuee Registration Form, we will also need a financial form filled for the payment
